The Goechala Trek is a spectacular 11-day Himalayan journey that unfolds in the magical landscapes of West Sikkim, taking you all the way to Goechala Viewpoint (15,100 ft) — one of the closest points from which you can witness the grandeur of Mt. Kanchenjunga (8,586 m), the third-highest peak in the world.

The adventure begins at New Jalpaiguri (NJP), with a scenic drive through lush tea gardens and mountainous roads to Yuksom, a peaceful village nestled at 5,700 ft. Over the next few days, the trail passes through enchanted forests, ancient wooden bridges, and rhododendron-lined paths, gradually gaining altitude through Sachen, Bakhim, Tshokha, Dzongri, and Thansing, before reaching the alpine paradise of Lamuney and Samiti Lake.

From Dzongri Top (13,675 ft), trekkers witness their first surreal sunrise over Kanchenjunga. The final climb to Goechala Viewpoint (15,100 ft) is both physically challenging and emotionally rewarding, offering a jaw-dropping 180° panorama of snow-covered Himalayan giants including Kabru, Rathong, and Pandim.

The return journey retraces the trail through Kokchurang, Tshokha, and back to Yuksom, concluding with a drive to NJP.
