Hampta Pass Trek with Chandratal Lake (5 Days / 4 Nights)
Embark on an unforgettable journey from the lush green valleys of Kullu to the stark, arid landscapes of Lahaul-Spiti.
Your adventure begins as we pick you up from Manali and drive you through the picturesque village of Prini to Jobri — the starting point of your trek. The trail kicks off with a refreshing walk through dense pine forests with occasional maple trees. You’ll cross a wooden bridge over the Rani River and trek through grassy meadows to reach your first campsite, Chikka. Spend the night under the stars in alpine tents.
Wildflowers in purple, yellow, and pink add color to the landscape. Leaving the forest behind, you’ll cross a chilly mountain stream before reaching the sandy, wind-sheltered campsite of Balu ka Ghera. Rest up in tents for the big day ahead.
Begin a gradual but steady climb to Hampta Pass, surrounded by stunning views of the Deo Tibba and Indrasan peaks. Reach the pass by lunchtime for a well-deserved break and breathtaking panoramas. After that, brace yourself for a steep descent on rocky trails leading to the cold desert campsite of Shea Goru. A long but rewarding day!

Tour Plan
Altitude:9800 ft
Time Taken: 20 minutes to reach Prini from Manali ,1/2 hour drive to JOBRI from Prini.
Trek gradient : Moderate
We will pick you at bus stand/Hotel and will take you to trek by car till to Jobri.After reaching Jobri we will start our trek.Cross the road where you get off from the vehicle and take the small path into the forest.The forest is mostly Pine with an occasional Maple tree with its new lush green leaves.After crossing the forest you will cross a small bridge over the Rani river. Covering a path fully covered by green grass you will reach your first campsite Chikka. Overnight stay in tents for better.

Trek gradient:Easy to Moderate
Walk along the Rani river heading into a rectangular valley.On your way you will find a variety of tiny flowers-purple,yellow,pink etc.The trees are now left behind.You will now cross a small stream on your way .After crossing the stream you will reach to the second camp site.Overnight stay in tents.
Altitude:12411 ft to 12254 ft via 14035 ft.
Time taken:8-9 hours .
Trek gradient:Moderate
This trek can be broken into two stages-the climb to Hampta pass which is moderately steep followed by a steep descent to Shea Goru. You want to take a small break at the top of the pass so make your target to reach the pass by lunchtime,have lunch there and start the descent.At some points the trail may be fade out so be careful not to get lost.Stay with your team.After an hour of gentle gradient in a rock fall prone area,the climb picks up.This is the first serious incline you will encounter.Half an hour into the climb,you will reach the first plateau.Here you can see Deo Tibba peak right in front of you.Now by reaching at the pass point you can take panoramic view .After that you will descent to Sheya Goru.
Sheya Goru to Chhatru ,drive to** Chandratal Lake** and back to Chhatru
Altitude:12254 ft to 10898 ft to 14100 ft.
Time taken 4-4.5 hours

You will start this day by crossing the ice - cold Sheya Goru nala.It is a gentle downhill walk in the starting from Shea Goru.You will still move along side the river in the valley between the mountain ranges.After passing you will see Chhatru road at a distance.After reaching Chhatru besides on the Chandra river, take your lunch and be ready for Chandratal trek by car depending upon the condition of the road.You will see the moon shaped lake .Since Chandratal is at an altitude of 14000 ft there are good chances of being hit by acute Mountain sickness if you are not well Hydrated.Enjoy your visit to Chandratal lake by getting most amazing picks .After your joyfull view of lake will return to Chhatru .
After an early morning debriefing bid the Spiti Valley goodbye and head back to Manali .The journey from Chhatru to Manali passes through Rohtang pass and can take up to 4 hours.The scenery all through the rout is a threat in itself.Trek will end with sweet memory of Manali and Spiti valley.
